David and The Death of Marat
Running Time: 52'
/ Format: HD
/ Available versions: FR | EN
Paris, July 1793. In an increasing tense political climate, Marat, journalist and fervent revolutionary is murdered by Charlotte Corday. Within a few hours, the Assembly puts the painter David in charge of capturing the attack. His mission is simple and huge at the same time: painting a historical event and rose it to the situation of symbol. David created a masterful piece of art. By coincidence, in 2008, an expert is given a painting oddy similar to the original, apart from a few details.
While folowing the investigation lead in France and Belgium about yhe “odd one” and the original piece of art, this film recounts those days in Summer 1793, when the artist worked on creating a picture, captured a moment in History and transcended it.
