Brian De Palma has worked with Coppola, Scorsese, Spielberg and Lucas; and is one of the key filmmakers of “New Hollywood “. Independent, influenced by counterculture and French Nouvelle Vague, his films deal with taboo in a new and radical way. Re-worked by the studios to from American cinema classics, De Palma directed some of the biggest blockbusters such as “Scarface” with Al Pacino, “The Untouchables” with Kevin Costner and “Mission Impossible” with Tom Cruise. Because of his over-sensitive political films such as “Redacted”, in the end the studios closed their doors to him.
